Showcasing United Nations Presence and Operations in Uganda
The booklet provides and overview of the 29 United Nations entities providing development and humanitarian support to the Government and people of Uganda. The United Nations presence in Uganda is extensive with 3067 staff, 4 regional hubs, and 25 district presences, ensuring nationwide coverage to advance the country’s developmental goals.
The United Nations Uganda Vision 2030 espouses the national vision of a transformed and inclusive Ugandan society with high quality of life and resilience for sustainable development. This vision is conducted through the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF 2021-2025), which focuses on three strategic priorities: Transformative and Inclusive Governance, Shared Prosperity in a Healthy Environment, and Human Well-being and Resilience. For the first two years of the Cooperation Framework implementation (2021 and 2022), the UNCT collectively contributed more than half a billion US dollars ($602.2 million) to Uganda’s development.
