Uganda UN Common Pledge 2.0
The UN Country Team commitment will support key elements of refugee inclusion, which are increasingly being adopted by Governments and across the United Nations system to build and achieve collective outcomes in fragile and crisis-affected contexts. UNHCR, as the lead, in support of the Ugandan authorities, on coordinating the overall refugee response, will work with partners to mainstream refugee needs across humanitarian and development programmes/plans; and will facilitate improved coordination at national and sub-national levels. It will also bilaterally renew and/or finalise relevant local MoUs and LoUs between UNHCR and UN Agencies. While UNHCR will work closely with the Resident Coordinator (RC) and Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) in the implementation of this UNCT Common Pledge/commitments, the RC will continue to provide strategic leadership, with support of the RCO, for enhancing UN joint advocacy on refugee inclusion and for ensuring UN Agencies’ accountability to their specific commitments in this document.
